Vision (കാഴ്ചപ്പാട്)

The vision of a Grama Panchayat is a grand dream of what the region should become in the future.

• Objective: The long-term goal of transforming into a model village that has achieved comprehensive and sustainable development, ensuring a better quality of life for all citizens.

• Examples:

  • Complete cleanliness and a healthy living environment.

  • An eco-friendly village that preserves its greenery and water abundance.

  • A poverty-free society that guarantees education, healthcare, and employment for everyone.

2. Mission (ദൗത്യം)

The mission outlines what the Panchayat is currently doing or how it operates to achieve that vision.

• Objective: Defining the key targets and methods of operation to turn the vision into reality.

• Examples:

  • Participatory Planning: Formulating development projects by understanding the needs of the people through Ward Sabhas and Grama Sabhas.

  • Efficient Services: Delivering Panchayat services swiftly to the public through online systems and transparent governance.

  • Infrastructure Development: Upgrading the standards of roads, drinking water, electricity, public educational institutions, and healthcare centers.

  • Sustainable Livelihood: Ensuring local economic growth by promoting agriculture and small-scale industries.

In short: The Vision gives you a destination (where to reach), while the Mission provides the path of action (how to get there) to achieve that goal.
